Sif

Sif is the wife of Thor, the god of thunder, and is celebrated for her radiant golden hair, which symbolizes fields of ripe wheat and the earth's fertility. As the goddess of fertility and the harvest, she embodies the life-giving aspects of nature. Sif is the mother of Ullr, the god of skiing and hunting, from a previous union, and with Thor, she has a daughter named Thrúd.

One of the most famous stories involving Sif is the tale of her golden hair. Loki, the mischievous trickster god, cut off Sif's beautiful hair as a prank, causing great distress. Thor, enraged by Loki's deed, demanded that Loki restore Sif's hair. To make amends, Loki went to the dwarves, master smiths, and commissioned them to create a new head of hair for Sif, made of real gold. The dwarves crafted hair that not only restored Sif's beauty but also grew like natural hair.
