Skaði (Skadi)
Skaði is a jötunn and goddess associated with winter, hunting, and skiing. She is the daughter of the giant Þjazi and is known for her fierce and independent nature. After her father's death at the hands of the gods, Skaði demanded compensation and chose Njörðr as her husband. However, their marriage was troubled due to their differing preferences for living locations. Skaði preferred the cold mountains, while Njörðr preferred the sea. Skaði is often depicted with skis and a bow, symbolizing her mastery of the harsh winter environment.
