Sól
Sól is the radiant goddess of the Sun, a vital force in the Norse cosmos. She is the daughter of Mundilfari and the sister of Máni, the god of the Moon. Known for her brilliance and beauty, Sól drives the chariot that carries the Sun across the sky each day, pulled by two swift horses, Árvakr and Alsviðr. The gods assigned her this role to bring light and warmth to the worlds, but she must always flee from the fierce wolf Sköll, who chases her in an attempt to devour the Sun. According to prophecy, during Ragnarök, Sköll will finally catch her, and the Sun will be consumed. However, it is foretold that Sól's daughter will take up her mantle and bring light to the new world that emerges after the cataclysm, ensuring the continuity of the Sun's life-giving energy.
